78 trades · 2018–2025
Every trade this league has made, graded on what the players put into the lineup that received them above replacement at their position — from the week of the trade to the end of the regular season, counting only the weeks they were still on that roster.
The 2018 and 2019 deals are marked estimated: those seasons kept no weekly lineups, so their grades assume every week after the trade was a start — a method that picks the right winner in 40 of 45 Sleeper trades where the answer is known. They stay out of the ledger. 2016 and 2017 are absent entirely; ESPN no longer serves transactions that far back.
Who comes out ahead, across every deal they’ve made.

Sort any column. Above replacement is the net figure against the managers on the other side of those deals; per trade is the same number divided by how many they made, which rewards the picky over the busy. A trade inside 10 points is called even rather than won: below that, naming a winner is pretending to a precision this doesn’t have. Counts 56 decisive trades out of the 47 measured ones; the 31 estimated deals appear on the season and manager pages but not here.
Why 226 points from a quarterback isn’t worth 226 points.
Replacement is what a freely available player at that position would have scored you. Anything above it is what the trade actually gained; anything below it you could have had for nothing. In 2025 a poor start was worth:
So when Ryan took Josh Allen in 2024 and started him nine times for 226.5 points, roughly a hundred of those were free — any quarterback off the waiver wire would have scored them. Allen was worth +123.5, not 226.5. That is the difference between a 197-point fleecing and a 104-point win.
Replacement is set at the 25th percentile of started weeks at that position that season. Drawn anywhere between the 15th and the 40th, the verdicts agree on 41 to 45 of 45 — so it is a stable measure, not a knob to turn.
One caveat worth stating plainly. This measures what happened, not whether the decision was any good. Brandt traded Tyreek Hill and Fournette for Saquon Barkley in 2020, and Barkley tore his ACL in week two. The arithmetic calls it a fleecing; a fair person would call it rotten luck. Nothing here can tell those apart.
The most one-sided deals on record.
Deals that came out level, which does happen.
